How to make a mail server to accept incoming mail?
Good afternoon!
I want to make my own mail server that can both send mail and receive it. I only stumble upon articles that show postfix installation for send only.
Can you recommend an article/guide on installing and configuring a mail server to accept incoming messages?

No one will give you a guide, but if this work is divided into stages, then you can learn a lot along the way
-DNS
-Smtp, imap, pop3
services -Courier-imap or Dovecot?
-Are user accounts system or virtual? Virtual ones are more convenient, and the database is already set up and working for you. If you suddenly need to run incoming mail through the procmail filter, you will have to enter system accounts, because virtual procmail does not work
. Encryption settings. Services smtps, imaps, pop3s - Setting up
smtp authorization
- Installing and configuring antivirus and antispam
- Installing a web interface for working with mail
- Filtering incoming mail procmail. Not required, but worth checking out
enough for six months
For a start I advise to esteem about DNS. What are MX records in a domain and how do they work. After that, an understanding will immediately appear that a regular standardly launched postfix with an open port 25 can immediately receive incoming mail.
iRedMail works out of the box - you can install it on Ubuntu, set up MX records, configure fail2ban and SSH.
