Hello.
Before the interview, I was given a test task, I needed to make up a layout of the site, but from the source files I was given only a PDF file. Before that, I only worked with PSD layouts.
Here, the question is, tell me how to make a layout from a PDF file? If there are links to a detailed answer on my question, I would be extremely grateful.

Depends on the design (in many simple cases, you can make up from jpg) and on the pdf file.
If layers, text, vector objects are saved in pdf, then without any problems it can be opened in illustrator, for example.
In general, look at the situation. If all layers are merged in pdf, ask for source files.

Hmm, it seems that all modern versions of Photopop understand PDF, in extreme cases you can open it with an illustrator and get all objects as vectors and bitmaps / masks, if it didn’t open with layers in Photoshop, although the layout in PDF is certainly not the height of genius. I would ask what caused the choice of this format as a basis, if the answer is not within the framework of adequacy, then there is no point in fooling around IMHO.

No way, either make it up by eye or ask for psd. It was necessary to immediately demand psd at the interview or what they work in there ... Figma, zeplin, vector, etc. But typing from pdf is, in my opinion, nonsense

I had a similar situation, passed a test week at the company. They gave a layout in pdf, no grid, the dimensions are incomprehensible at all, there is no photoshop on the computer and no graphic program in general, and they said "you don't need a layout designer" - ps only for designers. He asked - do you want by eye? Yes, no problem, you are my curves ...
In general, I downloaded a portable gimp, several bootstrap grids, adjusted the design - fortunately it fit one grid.
I did the layout, but in principle I knew that I would not work for them. He said, if everything is built like that for you, then sorry, look for others, but my nerves are dear to me ...

hmm... Why not request a layout in the familiar psd format? Immediately put such misunderstandings in their place, then you will be sent layouts drawn with a ballpoint pen on a piece of paper in a cage. And it doesn’t matter how and what you can open, request the format you need and are familiar with.
