How to make a laptop

Colleagues!

I have a very strange question for you, from which I would probably be horrified myself. But it sounds like this - how to assemble a laptop yourself? That is, I am interested in where you can get a matrix, a motherboard and other components, as well as batteries, and how to put it all together in a case that I will make myself. Also where can I order a keyboard board with programmable keys. Everything is very chaotic, but somehow it does not work out differently. To begin with, the cheapest components would be suitable (who knows where to get them) for the first experiment. And maybe someone has already encountered something similar or works in the production of laptops and knows how their basics are followed in the design and implementation? Tell me where to dig.

Thank you in advance.

You can buy the cheapest laptop, disassemble it completely, mix the parts and try to reassemble.

Obviously, we need to start with the radio markets. Then look at the ads for the sale of non-working laptops (which are for spare parts). Order the most exotic from ebay. How to assemble in your case - only you know :)
Well, the very first step is, of course, Google. When asked to assemble the laptop , it gives quite adequate results. For example: a 2005 THG article .
Good luck :)

First you need to decide on the target audience.
Let's say teenage girls, then you need to make the body pink, with smooth contours, decorate with Swarovski. Components to buy the most glossy, glamorous, etc.
If the target audience is geeks, then the body can be omitted;)

It seems to me that it is necessary to start according to the principle of training artists - the repetition of paintings by masters.
Take a note. understand, collect. Then try to repeat the case and mount the components there. Repeat the process until satisfactory results are obtained. And then different cases from different manufacturers. So there will be an understanding of the logic of the case device. Then it will be clear how to make a case for the planned components.

There are two options: modding and "from scratch".
Modding is when you take a simple one, like 701 EEE, after which you put in a bunch of flash drives, a GPS TV tuner, 3G, 4G, change the battery, etc. etc., change the matrix, in the end you find out that the case no longer closes and make a new case ...
This is a relatively simple way and, paradoxically, the cheapest ...
Option 2: take a microITX motherboard, and if possible - picoITX, a mobile TV, after which you decide to turn it into a laptop ...
To begin with, you need a PSU. It can be bought in stores for ITX boards - it is called picoPSU and is a scarf that is stuck into the power connector on the mother.
It, at least, will have to be soldered, tk. Otherwise it's pretty high crap.
The next step is to connect the monitor. If you save money and buy without a VGA input, you need an adapter like AverKey from VGA to Tulip ... Yes, yes, solder too!
You can try to invent something for the connector for the LCD on the board, but ... I did not see any solutions a few years ago ...
Klava - some kind of thread is taken a small USB key, in the manner of Defenderovskaya. It is disassembled, the case is thrown out, the lace is cut off ...
Touchpad - it seems that you can buy something like that now, but how lucky!
Batteries, etc. etc. - a bunch of headaches, in the style of charge control ...
Then, remarkable talents in order to bungle a body for this miracle from something ...
Well, in the end - counting the grandmas banged on the project, ruined materials and looking at this monstrous design that is not able to work without external power for even half an hour ...
So if you want to build a “custom” laptop, it’s better to jump from NOUT spare parts: for personal computers still not very mobile dimensions and food ...
www.st.rim.or.jp/ ~keiz/ - wander here through the links in the menu: IMHO, but this is the most mobile, from what was assembled from "standard" PC parts!
IMHO - now, unlike four years ago, it is easier to buy similar parts ...
But the parameters of even 901 EEE - bypass this creation in a big arc!
