How to make a backup of files on the server?

Launch a server on Linux/Windows that will automatically save directories with files on the client's computer. Where can you start? What server characteristics are needed for this task?

Any server on which a file share or FTP will work and there will be enough disk space.
Install any synchronization utility on the client or run xcopy from the command line as scheduled.
The task does not sound like there are any difficulties in the implementation. Explain.
