How to link symfony and angular?

Guys there was a question. There is a client part in angular 2, but I don’t understand how to connect the angular router and the back part of symfony. Where to start studying tell me? No experience with symfony. I know this is a dumb question, but I can't put it better yet.

If you have absolutely no experience with symfony - then start with this symfony.com/doc/current/setup.html
And in order to communicate with angular - you will most likely need to return json in response - How to return json to symfony2?

I would make a rest api on symphony and receive or write data to the database through it.
