How to legally use code that is distributed under MIT?

I work as a freelancer and used in the application the code found on GitHub, to which the MIT license was attached. Under its terms, I must mention the author of the code and the license itself in the software. How and where do I need to do it?

In any accessible place About or accompanying documentation.
If text documentation - they like to make a “copying” file indicating everyone whose code is borrowed.
If the system is on the web, the license should be seen by the webmaster (for example, in the “.copying” file, which is not shown by the server), and not by the end user.
In the client web, it is enough to make a commented link to the license somewhere in .js.
