How to leave index.php in address bar (wordpress)?

In general, I transferred the site from dle to wordpress.
The page addresses on the dl were as follows: site.ru/index.php?newsid=67
In order not to lose the index, I leave the same URLs, at least for posts.
In the WordPress settings in an arbitrary url (Permalinks) I wrote this: /index.php?newsid=%post_id%
Pages for posts seem to be formed, but index.php disappears when you click on them - only ?newsid=67 remains, but still does not go to the post.
How to leave index.php in the address of posts and other pages on wordpress?

@dubrovchenko

1. Check if there is index.php rewrite in .htaccess. If there is, remove it.
2. For posts, go to Settings -> Permalinks and change the url there. In WP.
