How to learn web design?

How to learn web design? Ideally, it could be monetized in a year or two or three.
These questions have already been asked here, but I don’t need books, I need practice and useful advice. In books - only theory and reflections. But if you know any book that is useful for a beginner, write.
PS By web design, I mean a bit of designing and a lot of drawing layouts for websites. For example, I would like to make a blog for myself, but the trick is in zero design skill.

Agree with @thorman. Theory is necessary in this area, without it in any way. In any case, you will have to get the same theory by browsing web pages with different ready-made solutions throughout the year and looking for answers to questions on the forums. Or just read a good book and understand how and what is created. If we talk about Photoshop, then with books, of course, the situation is different. If you read, you will have to sit in Photoshop itself at the same time. It is much easier to act in the simplest way. Find your favorite site with tutorials on the latest Photoshop, web design category. And you begin to make a day from 1 layout according to the model. After about 10 layouts you will already understand the standard functions of photoshop, after a few dozen more you will be able to draw yourself. And then, as it goes, either you start doing it yourself, or you continue to study.
If you want to learn some programming languages, then without theory it will not work. If you need, for example, html / css knowledge for layout. Then for the lazy, the best solution would be to watch video tutorials. I know a very good coder, Zoraks, who makes excellent lessons on CSS, HTML, and in addition there is also Javascript, if you are interested. Here is his youtube channel .
Books are good in any case, if you do not understand what is written there, then try to practice the simplest example. For example, if we talk about JS, then there you will start with additions, subtractions, multiplications, etc. and then you will move on to something less easy and start to delve into. I understand how you feel about books. Perhaps it is comparable only to learning photoshop, since I learned it without books. For everything else, download books. If there is nothing to read from, but you don’t want to read from a computer. Take paper ones in stores, but it’s better to order on the Internet, what the developers who studied from books will advise. There are many alternatives to books, the same videos, but not always you will find suitable ones. I've seen video tutorials in which the simplest topics were thrashed for a whole hour for a very long time. The same Zoraxexplained in 5-10 minutes in his video, the reason for this may be the unpreparedness of the announcer, pauses, and so on. The books are even better because everything is corrected, perfectly compressed and filed. Someone studies thanks to articles, that is, you do what you want, while for each question you turn to Google and read dozens of articles there to understand the solution. It takes a lot of time, but someone is already studying. You decide. Just saw that you are fluent in html/css. Then what's the problem with drawing designs? You don’t know the functionality of Photoshop or you can’t come up with a design. If the first, then I have already described what needs to be done. If the latter, then it’s more difficult, it all depends on the person, someone can, and someone can’t. But with experience, these will come. Good luck.

In vain you are so about books.

You definitely don't need to start by learning Photoshop. He is often advised by those who consider designers to be artists.
