How to learn to understand Bitrix in one evening?
In general, I took an order for the layout of the site.
After transferring the necessary files, it turned out that the site was on Bitrix (none of the two of us knew about this, because the customer was not a boom in this, but the TK was apparently made up by the past layout designer).
I have never worked in Bitrix, but the order is already hanging and there is no desire to receive a negative review.
In general, we need an article or just some kind of documentation for dummies (namely, for dummies, because you won’t read the official documentation overnight, and you won’t understand it all the more), step-by-step lessons, etc.
I don’t need to delve into the whole system, just know how to work with the template, what leads where, and how everything works.
I have only one evening for theory (and most likely a night).

No fluff or pen for you - this will be a test for the layout designer :)
It's not as simple as with ordinary light tsms that have templates
In addition to Bitrix, you need to study development methodologies, in particular FFF, which implies a SOBER assessment and an agreement on time with a margin, so as not to plan RIGHT (I am silent about the wildest deadline in one evening), because it is based on the principle:
" Everything will always go wrong as we planned, because we live among living people and something will definitely shift the deadlines " - They promised to do it in the evening and did it in the evening - they just fulfilled the promise (although it cost you a lot)
- They promised it in the evening and did it in 3 - you screwed up 3 times
- They promised to do it in a week and did it in an evening or 3 - you served super faster at times and shocked the customer

First of all, I strongly recommend informing the customer about this, performing the layout itself in full according to the accepted description of the order, and then offering options to the customer. Either you complete the simple layout of static html for the subsequent integration of a bitrix specialist into the system itself, or you yourself take on these improvements but with the terms of extending the time of the order (and may be paid).
It is not your fault that the customer did not fully describe the task, but the customer himself, of course, cannot be completely blamed for this and it will be honest for the customer to inform him about the problem as soon as possible and the easiest way out for all parties.
If there is an adequate person, he will appreciate the honesty and thinks he will meet you if you reasonably justify other deadlines or other conditions for fulfilling the order.
Well, in extreme cases, you can close the order by agreement of the parties, but if he files a complaint, then you also have the right to complain about the terms of the TOR, in which the true complexity of the task was not disclosed.
And I repeat once again, I strongly recommend that you be honest with the customer first of all, and not try to do something that you may very well not be able to do and thus, unexpectedly for the customer, disrupt the deadlines / quality of the product. Therefore, it is better to warn as early as possible so that the person also adjusts his plans and appreciates your honesty.
1. Make yourself a copy of the site.
Editing Bitrix on a live site for a person who does not understand it is very risky and fraught.
2. You definitely need administrative access to the site, otherwise you will not do anything in principle.
3. Main template - make a copy of the folder that is currently being used (one of /bitrix/templates - which one, see in the admin panel). There you edit the main two files - header.php and footer.php, write styles in .css files, dump the pictures you need for the design there.
4. Then go through all the pages in a row and see where, in addition to the main template, components are used (the old design will remain there). Go as an administrator by turning on the "edit mode" in the top panel. It allows you to see where a component is connected and a template to it.
Important! Do not edit templates if they are not in your folder! First copy (the same editing mode allows you to do this).
5. Learn PHP if you don't already. Have to.
Well, good luck. Greetings from miser Avgiy...
