How to justify the required salary level?
I work at an enterprise where there were no admins before me, but there were only outsourcing offices, and just acquaintances "experienced". Until last year. In general, I found them by chance - they gave a modest announcement in the newspaper, and I had just moved from the other end of the country and was looking for at least some work for 2 months. At the interview, they outlined everything in a natural way: 45 workstations, XP sp2 / SP3 everywhere, a spontaneous grid, 5 servers (1c, Internet, a domain controller, and a couple of file servers), an ancient elastix out of the box, 40 SNR 7010 phones, and in some places the remains of an old PBX in parallel . Something constantly hangs, the network slows down, viruses are walking around, etc. Computers - entirely Core2Duo E6300, and three E7300. In general, the level of development is only -2008, interspersed with modernity. And all this somehow works without the hand of the "owner". In general, we agreed on a month of trial, and 20 tr. salaries for the first months, because neither they know how much you need to pay, nor I did not know the wage range of system administrators in the Central Federal District.
Now more than half a year has passed. Grid, rack-mounted server with ESXi, Asterisk 13, telephony works like clockwork, accounting does not twitch at all, and the chief accountant seems to be even happy, connected multichannel numbers via SIP, modernized, slowly engaged in licensing, half of the machines are on Win7, server for 2012, a couple of network servers on CentOS 7 (just telephony on one and zabbix on the other), Internet via Mikrotik, bookkeeping ordered a separate server for terminals and a database for 1s 8.3, switched to gigabit switches. I write some software small for the needs of the enterprise. production monitoring system in departments on LCD TV via Raspberry 2, Exchange will soon be raised, power backup with a diesel generator, I am purchasing an IP-DECT bundle of Gigaset microcells with a subsequent increase, the number of workstations has increased to 50 + laptops, + now I am engaged in SIM- cards and beeline ....
In fact, free time has become in recent months - half or a third of the day. Periodically they throw up tasks that are not specific to the administrator (such as just reserving power). Everything suits me. Only the salary remained at the same level - 20 tr.
Monitoring haha.ru and three interviews showed that I can qualify for 45 tr. per month clean hands.
But I don’t know at all how and what to tell the boss (commander) that I want these 45 in my hands a month.
By the way, the boss is a good guy.

Whatever you did will be your rationale, come and talk to the boss. Do not be afraid of anything, this is a normal situation. It is not worth putting ultimatums about leaving, despite the fact that you like this job and spoil your opinion and relationships, you will have time to find another one.
But I don’t know at all how and what to tell the boss (commander) that I want these 45 in my hands a month.Say you want that paycheck. They won't give it here, they will give it there.
To say something - you need to have options.
Do you have them? If - no, then prepare in advance: then - it will be too late.
And then you say: either that much or I'm moving to another office.

salary of the administrator does not come from the fact that he is worn like an electric broom around the company. It should not be seen or heard at all. Everything works as if by itself.
And as an option: they won’t give money - discuss a free schedule, or Monday-Wednesday-Friday.
go to a new job
you will like it even more
moving to a new apartment usually takes me half a day even in rush
Understand that while you are silent, the employer is satisfied with everything. And you don't need to justify anything, just go and say it. If he starts to play up or demand justification, then you are not on your way, write down on a piece of paper 10-k points what has improved, give it to the boss. And immediately start looking for another job, even if the salary is raised.
Oh man, here you are on your own, uh ...
peck-peck in short.
ZP needs to be raised is a fact. But this must be done carefully. Why?
Get into the position of director. If he is an adequate leader, then he thinks in strategic categories, and their duration is from three months. If you, such a handsome man, come to him in the middle of the period and say give me a 250% money, then for him it will mean a choice:
1) Pay you the legal loot and squander the entire budget of the office;
2) Find a monkey in your place than to nullify the efficiency of the enterprise.
Unpleasant, right?
Therefore, you need to approach the matter wisely. Here's an article on the subject:

Tell Everything the same as us only to the boss, what was like this and it became like this and it costs money
Give him this topic to read, if the boss is adequate, then he will make the right decision.
Try to find something better, then say that elsewhere you are offered a higher salary, and you will only stay if they give you the desired salary
Much has been written - and all is not the case.
You say how much money you want. Politely.
The employer is wondering if it makes sense for him to look for a replacement for you or if they are not looking for good.
All.
Everything else is waste water. You never know what is there on haha.ru. Or that you get paid for your work in Silicon Valley. Only your conversation with the boss matters. You can show him (politely!!!) haha.ru to make him think.
But a reasonable boss will say - you never know what is there on haha.ru. And he will be right. You can always find cheaper than haha.ru. Whether he wants to search is another matter.
If anything: you can easily find a job for yourself now. There are few specialists. They are in short supply. They are being hunted.
If you can't find it, you don't deserve more pay.
Didn't find what you were looking for?
