How to join a team on Kaggle?

Hello.
I am interested in machine learning. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to find a job in this area the first time, so now I want to get the maximum experience and practical skills in this area in order to try again after a while.
About me:
Six months of programming experience. Python, Golang. Machine Learning studied in courses on Coursera and ShAD (video recordings) and books. There is no application experience. Familiar with numpy, scipy. A little with mathematics (olympiads, physics and mathematics teacher's institute)
Actually, the question. Is it possible to join a team on kaggle with such a background and how to do it? Maybe there is someone here who participates in competitions and is ready to take a junior to the team?
By the way, if there are any tasks related to ML, but not related to kaggle, I'm ready to participate on a voluntary basis.
UPD: In order to avoid misunderstanding, I will make a reservation that the question is directed, rather, to the search for specific people and teams.

Judging by the description, you have enough theoretical knowledge to participate in kaggle, so it would be worth starting even alone, because. for me, ML is understood more in practice. And already on kaggle you will make friends and unite you will get a good team. (They say there is such a practice in kaggle that leaders combine their solutions into an ensemble in order to get the best result and thereby win, perhaps teams are created this way.) If you decide to participate alone, but there is a fear of not understanding how to approach the task, then I advise you to read the articles:
blog.graphlab.com/using-gradient-boosted-trees-to-...
machinelearningmastery.com/master-kaggle-by-compet...
If in the future there is a desire to work in analytics, I want to suggest reading this article

I can say that (I myself have been working as an analyst and using machine learning for over a year) I absolutely agree with what is described in the article.

Have you been looking for a job, so to speak, in the field of data analyst with ready-made tools or an algorithm developer?
So I'm wondering if you use any ready-made packages for statistics and ML like sklearn on kagle, is there much sense in this? because it turns out that you just work with a black box, you submit data as an input, you get something as an output, in the end you kind of use the tool, but you don’t understand how it works, especially if there are a lot of parameters.
Again, the question is what are the alternatives to the ShAD, because. ShAD is more likely for students of the last courses, tk. the entrance exam there is a set of institute semi-Olympiad tasks for ingenuity (which is akin to the ability to juggle and which are poorly related to the ML case), and the start of classes starts too early to be in time from work.
you can start digging into mnist dataset, it’s a pretty classic task, you can use ready-made tools or write your own SVM, NN, Logistic regression, you can also take some popular library and complete support for big data or calculations on the GPU, they will only thank you.
