How to install XP embedded on a flash card?
There is a Windows XP embedded system image that needs to be deployed to a CompactFlash. The problem is that an image is simply a set of system folders with all the necessary software and drivers.
This means that before uploading this set to a flash drive, it must be prepared appropriately as a bootable one. The question is how to do it?
My predecessor on the project performed a rather labor-intensive operation: using the bootflash utility, he copied a clean image of the installed windows XP to the flash, and then replaced all the contents with the same image. I would like to find a more rational solution.

Any of the options will be quite laborious.
But there are tools that can simplify some actions: one of them (proprietary!) Paragon virtualization manager , with a built-in function for preparing the system disk / image for transfer to a virtual / (other physical) machine (PTV / VTV - physical then virtual and physical then physical ). Why am I, and besides, you can roll the desired image with software and transfer the image to another medium (for example, compact flash), if necessary, you can even manage the image and change the software.
