How to install the right version of sphinxapi?
I installed Sphinx
with the help yum install sphinx
I set it up and started it, then I decided to check it for PHP, but I didn’t find the sphinxapi.php file in the system
I decided to take the file from the Windows version, but it didn’t fit
Query failed: searchd error: client version is higher than daemon version (client is v.1.30, daemon is v.1.25).

Just check out the version.
(launching any sphinx tool without parameters will produce a banner with the version).
Then drag the appropriate source tarball.
A more reliable way is to see if the package maintainer has separated any support into a separate package (some kind of sphinx-dev for example). Look in /usr/share/doc.
If not at all anywhere - drag it from the sorts. And don't forget to write "Kyu!" package maintainer, as long as the api is actually part of the sphinx.
Well, in general, universal advice - use sphinxql. Then no api is needed at all, standard functions from mysql / mysqli will suffice
Isn't it?
php.net/manual/ru/book.sphinx.php
Well, or just update the sphinx
