Hello. I want to install 2 versions of sphinx side by side.
Is it possible. Now there is a 2.2.9 version installed from the rpm package. It is necessary to put 2.2.11, but compiled manually. So, if you specify a prefix for the new version of the sphinx during compilation, it will be possible to control 2 sphinx daemons, depending on the usage directory? As far as I understand, when using applications in the OS console, it looks for this application in all directories that are in $ PATH and if it finds nothing, it gives an error. I plan to access 2.2.9 from anywhere on the system, and 2.2.11 only from its prefix directory, but it shouldn't be in $PATH.
What else can be expected?
