I decided to start learning puff ( can I write like that? Or is it an insult? ), I found a book on PHP + MySQL. At the beginning there is something like this:

Go to php.net, go to the Windows section, download the installer, run it, poke next, next, next and voila!

But in the end, I did not find any installer, I found only the archive with the latest version. And what to do with this archive - no idea. In fact, I have no idea what PHP is at all. I see that many people constantly write about installing some kind of servers. Can't I puff just like that, on my LAN?
Yes, by the way, I tried to drive a directory with PHP into Path . As a result, when calling php in the console, the cursor still moved to a new line, the console title changed, but no matter what I wrote there, there was no answer.
Are there exe files for installing PHP or is it all done in some other way? If others, how?

If you don't like XAMPP, try OpenServer

For windows, there is a pretty good scoop installer that will allow you to install php with one command.
I can not call this method the best solution, but this will be enough for a quick installation of php.

If you don't like WAMP, then you can use XAMPP , it takes a little longer to load, but it's easier to learn.
