How to install OS on PC?

No OS is installed on the PC. When installing Windows (XP, 7, 10), the computer just hangs at the "installation completion" stage. When installing Linux (Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Mint), the system gets up, but refuses to boot. At the same time, WinPE and Linux LiveCD work fine. Programs do not detect errors.
Tell me, please, what's the matter, what to do and how to install Windows all the same (on the edge of Linux) ?!

Check the hard drive, most likely everything is broken

I encountered this when the RAM conflicted with each other, usually with 2 or more memory sticks. By experimentation, I usually put in one main slot - one memory bar and tried to install the OS, if it didn’t start, then I took another memory bar. If all the bars did not allow you to install the OS - then the mat. the board was demolished, since with a working HDD in a normal state without bad sectors, etc., it is usually either RAM or a mat. fee :) Good luck with your experiments ;)
