Version 4.1.2 is installed from the official manual https://nodejs.org/en/download/package-manager/#de... You can of course build it from source, but you want it from official packages. UPD: The version is already available.

Package versions in Ubuntu within the same version are not updated.
What version was at release - that will always remain.
And they are outdated at the time of release.

on Ubuntu 15.04

Why are you using the Ubuntu developer branch?
The latest for users is now 14.04.
