How to install Linux on a MacBook on a separate drive?

Hi friends. I ask for your help. There is some confusion about the basics of booting and EFI, hence the question.
There is a MacBook Pro 13'. Inside there is an SSD and a separate HDD. MacOS High Sierra is installed on the SSD. Installed on HDD Linux. After the reboot, Grub loaded. I do not like it. I rebooted while holding the Option key, loaded MacOS and chose to boot SSD.
I want MacOS to boot by default, and to boot Linux, I had to boot by holding the Option key and select Linux from the list, as is the case when booting from a USB flash drive, for example.
I don't often plan to boot Linux, I don't want anything to say that I have it on the outside.
Installed rEFInd. You can load both MacOS and Linux with it, but I would like to do without it. Or so that by default it was not noticeable.
As far as I understand, I need to write grub to the EFI partition of the HDD. Correctly? If yes, can you help me to do it?

Look at the link , in the case of Windows installed via Boot Camp, everything works and you don’t need to do any additional settings, just choose once in the menu from which to boot.
