How to install applications on a flash drive?

The question is not new, but there is still no answer to it - how to make sure that all applications are installed on a flash drive, and not in the phone's memory? It seems that the OS does not provide for this at all. Memory is sorely lacking. Googled, didn't find a solution.
PS Bucket version 5 and 6 (two phones).

Three options:

1. Buy a normal phone;
   
2. Try using standard Android tools to transfer data to a memory card. Sometimes it helps, sometimes the memory is still not enough. This is in the application manager;
   
3. Root the phone, transfer applications to the card and link them to the system. The Link2SD program does this with one button, but it is paid.
