How to increase Polipo timeout?

Writes "Proxy error: 502 Read from server failed: Timeout. (Generated Sun, 20 Nov 2011 16:29:20 MSK by Polipo)".
At the same time, I know for sure that the server will eventually respond.
I can't google anything on the topic.
There is a maxConnectionAge parameter in the Polipo config, but it did not help to solve the problem. And in general, is the problem in the Polipo config?
