How to include latex formulas in Markdown?

Actually a subject. I take notes in markdown, I also want to include formulas there. How to designate them and how then to convert the text (you need html and pdf)?
UPD. Preferably locally. And if it can be integrated into your blog - even better.

gitbook has such an editor that supports latex
in gitbook latex formulas are framed $$...$$
there are js libraries for displaying latex in the browser

I use marked and katex JavaScript modules in my blog. I frame Latex formulas with $ characters, but I have to escape some characters with \.
