How to improve sound quality on a computer?

Clarity is excellent at low volume. But when the volume rises, it feels like some sections of the sound wave are cut off. It sounds like all the controls in the EQ have been turned up.
Tried with different players. Used multiple columns.
In the Windows mixer itself, you can see that the sound fluctuations at high volume go beyond the provided area.
Maybe there are some settings in Windows that work like an equalizer?
Maybe this is a limitation of the sound built into the motherboard?
