How to improve freelancing skills?

I have very average programming knowledge, modest python skills, OOP knowledge, very modest JS skills. I would like to earn extra money (two hours a day for 3-5 dollars per hour) as a freelancer, but I understand that now I hardly represent myself, especially for customers. How to improve your skills and where to start freelancing? Maybe work on a FOSS project?

Don't work for little money.
First, work for a couple of years for experience. The experience you get will be more profitable for you than the product for the client.
Then work for a couple of years at $15/h.
Then four years at $25/h.
And only then work for a normal remuneration.
Pick one. Do not switch to another area until you have completed at least 5,000 hours in the previous one. Maximum 2 areas.
And forget about programming if you are not ready to devote at least 8 hours a day to it.
