How to implement the Nested Sets model in Symfony 4?

The Doctrine ORM documentation mentions that it is possible to implement this model. It seems that all the necessary fields are added and the indexes are recalculated automatically.
I don’t quite understand how to project this into Symfony 4 - do I need to implement some method, or write something in annotations, or inherit the model from some special class? Maybe someone will tell?
