How to implement navigation through Vkontakte songs with global hotkeys?

There is an idea to write extensions for chrome that will allow you to switch songs in VK while in the editor with some hot key, or with a multimedia button on the keyboard. Well, or if there is already such an application, advise pliz. There must be support for global keys.
