How to implement file upload to ubuntu FTP with notification?

I make my ala backup server on the already combat ubuntu 18.04, backups are made anywhere on any OS, different programs are used for this, I need to collect all these backups on one server, the very first thing that came to mind was FTP, only now I’m thinking how to do this if, for example, the size of the backup can be 1 TB, and see the PC with the backup can turn off periodically, you need to somehow resume the transfer ..
and also to understand which PCs are normally backed up upon completion of the action to receive a notification
, I’m not looking for a ready-made backup solution because that it will be very immense in terms of tasks,

who will advise what? At least some kind of plan or direction ... thanks :)

I make my own ala backup server
There is no need for "alya". You have to do it right right away.
backups are made anywhere on any OS
I didn't understand this phrase. Is it about computers that have acral data that needs to be backed up?
there are different programs for that.
It is not right. It is necessary to make sure that there is one program everywhere - a multiplatform one. Well, okay, maybe two or three - but no more. No need to breed a zoo and multiculturalism.
I need to collect all these backups on one server, the very first thing that came to mind was FTP
FTP is not needed here, because it is not for this.
I am not looking for a ready-made solution for backup because it will be very immense in terms of tasks
In fact, collective farming, which you are starting with FTP, will be "immense in terms of tasks".
There is the right solution: a ready-made program, sharpened specifically for backup. For example, Bacula is a cross-platform client-server software that allows you to manage backup, restore, and data verification over a network for computers and operating systems of various types .
