How to implement a small call center?

Good afternoon, I need advice, but rather a step-by-step instruction:
We decided to organize a small call center (4 operators)
From the equipment there is a gsm gateway for 4 SIM cards, headsets, and a stationary PC that will act as a server.
1. Which OS to choose? After reading on the Internet - the choice fell on Ubuntu (but here the question is to put the desktop version or for the server?)
I warn you right away - I have never encountered any OS other than Windows before.
2. What to choose as a PBX - as I understand it, Asterisk is the best option?
3. After setting up the OS and PBX - how will the operators' computers be connected to the server?
4. What software should be installed on the computers of operators so that they can receive calls? (something simpler and with a graphical interface)
5. And the last question, how will it be possible to connect an ordinary home phone to this whole thing? (It is also possible to connect a virtual number)
Thank you in advance for your advice and tips!

Good afternoon.
Oh ... judging by question number 3, it will be hard for you. Without knowing Linux and asterisk, it’s a whirlpool to poke your head in ... It
is dangerous to use a stationary PC as a server, the probability of a failure and a complete stop of the Call Center is rapidly increasing.
You can stop at 3CX, it is free for up to 2 parallel calls, or buy for 4. But it works under Windows, it is much easier to set up than Asterisk, and there are softphones of our own production.
