How to identify the location of the object (s) or subject (s) in the room?
Good afternoon, colleagues.
The task is as follows:
there is a room with a certain number of rooms;
moving around the room, for simplicity, subjects who can be persuaded to wear some kind of personal labels;
my task is to understand at each moment which of the subjects are in which room.
Information should be read through a simple open API, then my problems.
Of course, this should be done as simply as possible. The average size of the rooms is 5x5 meters.
From what I have already analyzed and discarded for one reason or another:
www.rfid-card.ru/data1/rfid.nsf/0/6F844F99DBD3FC45... - some kind of wild proprietary, and I will not be able to run them for site inspections;
ibusiness.ru/blog/tyekhnologii_dlya_zhizni/30979 - very expensive;
If anyone has a ready-made solution in mind, or at least a direction of movement, please share.

Good afternoon, kaasius,
You have two options:
1. Active RFID tags. Here are expensive tags, but relatively cheap readers. And yet, every 2-3 years you need to change the batteries. The advantage of this technology is the possibility of positioning indoors/buildings. And also, because active labels are difficult to shield. I mean inadvertently escaping/blocking labels, it's understood that an attacker will find a way to "turn off the label". Your first link is just an example of active labels of an import supplier. Russia is full of integrators offering their own solutions.
2. Passive UHF Gen2 RFID tags. Here are cheap tags, but rather expensive readers. Using this technology, it is possible to organize only positioning within the framework of entering / leaving the premises, rooms with closely spaced entrances will be problematic. The tags are passive, they do not require maintenance, but they are easier to shield, for example, by putting them in a pocket with change. In Russia, there are also integrators involved in this technology.
PS: I do not provide links to manufacturers, so as not to advertise - write in a personal.
Everything is quite simple - we solved this problem many times when designing property inventory systems.
You don't really need long-range scanners with the ability to track target coordinates, because it's expensive and very dreary. Scanners without orientation in space are simpler, but here you can always run into scanning through the wall - it is treated with a long and tedious range adjustment (and if the room is not perfectly spherical, then some problems may arise). The simplest solution for your situation is to follow in our footsteps and put rfid gates on the aisles. Closing each passage will in fact cost at least 50 thousand rubles. The rest of the options are ineffective.
As for software, here I need to understand at least half an eye what the IT landscape is in your company, so that I can actually advise
you somehow. yes or any topic, write)) [email protected]
