How to host websites on the Internet?
Good day. Greetings with a noob question. I am new to the web. Can you please explain how websites are placed on the Internet? Well, that is, I have a hosting site, on which I uploaded my HTML + CSS files of a site made using Bootstrap .. But to go to it, you need to enter http://[hoosting-name]/index.html in the line .. Then Wordpress rolled up, and now when you enter hositng-name it goes to WordPress.. But it's not clear how to transfer your templates to WordPress.. What should I do? Trying to understand how to transfer templates to wordpress? Download ready-made and edit some incomprehensible images for your own? Or don't deal with WordPress at all? Maybe there are good articles that explain well what is what and how .. otherwise Google only confused me more ..

Depending on what you want to achieve.
Want a site on wordpress - learn how to create a template and edit content. Of course, you can use some ready-made template if it suits you, but you almost always have to finish it, and here you can’t do without knowledge of the basics of wordpress.
It will take some time to delve into the entire kitchen. It's better to start by creating your template from scratch.
If you need a simple static site, don't use a CMS.
You need to dig towards the domain name purchase service. As a rule, the same service where you host your site provides such a service, you will be lucky if it is cheaper than accredited domain registrars.
When choosing a hosting, as a rule, a more experienced site owner is interested in all aspects of the "domain + hosting" issue at once, and then decides whether to upload the site there or not.
https://neocities.org/ here is an example of free hosting for static sites (html+css+js).
There is also GithubPages. The list of free hostings can be googled.
You just need to upload files without WordPress.
If you need WordPress, then you need to look for a suitable paid hosting.
