How to get Zabbix Ubuntu SNMP traps?
Hello.
I use Zabbix to collect information from devices using the snmp protocol.
Everything works, it collects information using regular snmp requests, but this is a big load on the network and server. I tried to set up snmp traps for zabbix, but nothing works.
Writes in zabbix_server.log:
cannot stat SNMP trapper file "/tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp" no such file or directory
My settings and configurations:
1. Opened ports 161-162
2. Downloaded zabbix Perl script (parse traps for zabbix)
3. added the following to snmptrapd.conf
authCommunity execute public
perl do "/usr/bin/zabbix_trap_receiver.pl";
4. Added the following to /etc/zabbix/zabbix_server.conf:
StartSNMPTrapper=1
SNMPTrapperFile=/tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp (must be same as in zabbix_trap_receiver.pl)
5. Restarted the machine I get the
following in zabbix_server.log:
cannot stat SNMP trapper file "/tmp/zabbix_traps.tmp" no such file or
directory advise?
Thanks in advance

What kind of server and network is such that zabbix puts this whole thing on the shoulder blades?
And why can't ubuntu use its own agent?
