How to get the number of messages from one VK_API user?

Is it possible to get the number of messages that a particular user has written in a conversation? I know there is a messages.getHistory method, but it returns either the total number of messages from the conversation, or the number of messages from the selected user's dialogue. Of course, you can create a dictionary and write down each variable for an individual user, adding 1 to it with each message written, but this is not the most efficient solution and, in addition, the bot is disabled, which means messages will disappear.
