How to get the most out of your 3G connection?

There is an overloaded (city center) 3G network, a dongle with a SIM card and a laptop. Softinka making the connection shows two sticks out of five, sometimes three. Are there any ways to improve the quality of signal reception, for example, by buying a specialized dongle, antenna, or something else? You need a connection much better than it is. There are no other options (WiFi, change location, etc.).

I bought a Wi-Fi router with support for 3g modems, I hung the modem on an extension cord on the window. Now it is not tied to a specific place.

I, not knowing how to solder the antenna to my 3g modem, bought a usb extension cable and fixed the modem to the top of the window with adhesive tape. The signal has improved significantly.

Two simple tips.
1. The device is as close as possible to the window.
2. Try to reflect the signal to the device.

make a simple antenna and bring it out the window, or, if possible, onto the roof)

The experience of using the 3g-modem E173 in the countryside is 6 months, there is no signal. Ways to improve the quality of reception:
1. Buy a good 5-meter USB cable (maximum length of a passive extension cable). A 3g-wifi router is a crazy idea, but I haven't tried it myself.
2. Place the 3g whistle on the extension cord at the best reception point. Look closer to the windows, thinner walls and somewhere higher thread =). Mirrors and large metal objects (for example, the same system unit or heating radiators) shield the signal.
3. I found a 2.5mm copper wire in the yard ... from the bulldozer ... made 4 turns around the end of the modem and left ~ 40cm sticking up. O_o Reception improved from 6-12% to 10-21% and became noticeably more stable. If the arms are straight, then you can disassemble the modem and solder the antenna. There are also active antennas, but I have not tried them either.
4. I set it in the RAS settings (it works more stable for me). I set 3g only to jump less.
Everything works tolerably. In good weather, Skype does not lag for hours. (I’m not joking about the weather… everything falls off during a thunderstorm).

The quality in this case can be improved with the help of a multi-link :
That is, turn on 2 or more identical modems with SIM cards from one operator at the same time.
