How to get the full version of QtDesigner under Ubuntu?

I'm watching the Python GUI Development tutorial:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD91nE8q8Nk&index=12&list=...
and realize that my menu for widgets doesn't have many of the relevant object properties that are in the Windows version used in the video .
Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to type in the code manually?

This is completely impossible, widgets are identical for all OSes. Give specific examples.

What I did not see in the menu, I found it by searching in the properties.
