How to get rid of noise in linux?

Used guitar rig in Windows. I connected the guitar to the built-in laptop audio through a 3.5 microphone input. The sound was not perfect, but there was practically no noise, it was enough for me. Now I switched to linux, and here, using rakarrack, I don’t know how to get rid of the noise. The noise gate has to be twisted so that it eats up the guitar. Question: how to fix this situation? Is the problem software or OS? I thought it was to run the guitar rig through wine, but if the problem is in the OS, then I think there will be no sense, because the Linux drivers will be used anyway

Mic boost may be enabled.
Try alsamixer to find this parameter. Switch to F4 - capture, or F5 - all.
If enabled, disable. Look at other parameters, maybe you have a noise reduction.

Try recording a clean guitar sound with another application. If it still makes noise, then the reason is in the axis settings. If not, it's a bug in the software.
Well, in general, look at which channels and how they are used in the mixer settings.

Look in alsamixer to see how your microphone is defined.
I had such that the mono microphone was defined as stereo - there was sound from the microphone in one channel, terrible noise in the other. Muting the channel with noise helped.
