How to get rid of inactive workspace in wordpress admin?

Hello connoisseurs! I have a question about the wordpress admin panel, in one wp theme (bigbangwp) I'm trying to add images for a slideshow on the main one, and when the import menu pops up, the entire workspace becomes inactive and clicking anywhere on the screen resets the import menu.

What and where can go wrong? Are there any options to go the other way and upload pictures?
I hope I was able to convey the meaning.

UPDATE: I eventually found out it was easier to rebuild the site and went the other way. I just deleted all the existing stock slideshow images for the website theme and installed the slideshow plugin and now it's even easier!)

The most obvious, upload via FTP, and then manually link to the pictures.

and your picture max_filesize does not exceed?

The problem is that I can’t even fill in the picture (Moreover, this “effect” can be traced when, in the search for plugins, I want to view information about it - here is a screen. I can’t understand .... what this is connected with. Most likely after one of the latest wordpress updates.
