How to get query_vars for multiple categories?

I have a "Show more" button, which should work for the categories selected in the filter (select the categories, they arrive by ajax, are added along with paging), so that when the query parameter is sent to ajax, there will be data for several selected categories (cat: 1 ,2,3...), but not for one. How can this be implemented?
