How to get pptp connection working in OS X?

I have mac pro 13 retina. The device connects to the Internet through a pptp vpn connection. But after some short time, the ping disappears, the Internet, respectively, too. If you reconnect vpn, everything repeats, at first it stops working after a couple of minutes. All other home devices (windows, android) work properly via ppttp vpn. Where to dig and how to fix this thing?

Most likely the problem is not so much in OS X as in the VPN server.
I faced similar problem. Try to open a terminal and ping somewhere in the next window (for example, ping ya.ru). If the connection lasts more than the usual couple of minutes, then the remote server breaks the connection on its own initiative, without observing activity from you.

Yes, you are right, the problem is on the ISP's side. The provider unfortunately could not solve the problem on its side. The VPN server is on win2003. I solved the problem by installing an access point. The access point keeps the connection normally.
