How to get off the ground in web learning?

I am interested in web development, both front-end and back-end. I have already read/looked a lot on HTML, CSS, but now I am at a "dead point": it seems that there is little point in repeating it again, but I don’t know what to take. I work in a completely different field, but I like to watch the development of technology, new ideas in design. So web development is more like a hobby.
What can you advise? I can only say that my imagination is bad - I can’t come up with a template or even an idea for a site out of thin air.
Or maybe try programming, not layout? Backend, native js applications?

Make a site about a cat, then an online store for a friend / girlfriend, take an order on a freelance exchange and make it ...

of course you are all right, but so far it’s just not possible to start it with.
it feels like there is no one to point a finger at. although it’s probably useless to look for such a person without material gain from the other side

Until now, I don't see myself doing this.

I think for a start you don’t need to invent everything yourself, try copying something, make your own blog, for example, taking some kind of layout, there are a lot of them on the Internet, check your skills and decide in which area you are bad and hone your skills, as they say "Practice, practice and more practice.
