How to get back 3 cores on i5 3550 cpu?
The processor did not overclock. Worked in light mode for a couple of years. Then the employee began to complain about frequent reboots of the computer. Not quickly, but I found out that the matter is in the processor and it works stably only on 1 core. Other experiments, such as lowering the frequency or turning on / off various options on different motherboards, did not help - the system crashes every couple of hours.
Now it lies on the table, there is no suitable platform, but I will find it if I need a specific bsod log. I remember that under OS win10 the text was sometimes "clock_watchdog_timeout".
Is it being repaired, or let yourself lie further?)

I had a similar issue. I took the kit to the service (CPU + mother) for diagnostics. The verdict of the SC is some kind of problem either with the socket or with the power circuits. As a result, the problem was solved by replacing the motherboard. CPU i5 2550
