How to format someone else's code with your own identity?

I set the default identification to 2 spaces. I open other people's files - and there is another one. How can I completely remake the entire code under my rules?
Atom. Well, or Sublime in extreme cases (better Atom).
Probably, this procedure has a name, if you tell me what to google, I will also be grateful. It is difficult to customize these editors.
