How to fix Unity Ubuntu 14.04?
Good day. The following situation arose: I installed the proprietary fglrx drivers for the ati video card, but then decided to abandon them, and without reading a single tutorial, but simply changing the "Additional drivers" from proprietary to open, after rebooting, I did not want to start unity - said low-graphics , at first I thought about the xorg.conf file, which was left from fglrx, after deleting it, I can get to the password entry screen, but then nothing happens - it tries to log in and start loading Unity, but then again throws it on the password entry form. Manually removed all references to fglrx, then reinstalled xorg:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-core-lts-trusty libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-trusty libgl1-mesa-dri-lts-trusty
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg-core-lts-trusty

Reinstall the entire system - 20 minutes, then 1-2 hours setting for yourself and that's it, don't worry ....
