How to fix touchpad in ubuntu?
I am working on ubuntu 16.04. Notebook - ASUS f402c. I turn it on, I work quietly. Then after a while the touchpad turns off. Maybe in 20 minutes, maybe in 2 hours. The touchpad power button does not help. Sometimes it helps to log out of the user and log back in. After a reboot, the touchpad works. How to know for sure if this is a hardware or ubuntu problem?

Read the logs. Surely in them when the touchpad falls off there is an indication of the problem.
I suppose that it will be possible to "cure" the touchpad by restarting some kind of synaptic-type daemon.
