Here is the instruction for centos , did recently for a friend:
1.create a file /etc/yum.repos.d/mongodb-org.repo

[mongodb-org-3.2]
name=MongoDB Repository
baseurl=https://repo.mongodb.org/yum/redhat/$releasever/mongodb-org/3.2/x86_64/
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
gpgkey=https://www.mongodb.org/static/pgp/server-3.2.asc

2. Install mongo and extension
yum -y install http php mongodb-org
yum -y install gcc php-pear php-devel openssl-devel.i686 libxml2-devel openssl-devel

3. Insert into php.ini
extension=mongo.so
