How to fix the display of fonts in browsers (now crookedly ugly)?

In chrome, opera, mozilla, fonts began to display incorrectly.
Perhaps after yesterday's installation of updates on Windows XP.
Chrome settings reset completely. It did not help of course - in other browsers the same thing.
How to fix?
Thanks in advance.

Most likely you need to find the font smoothing settings in the system.

ClearType is responsible for "such" display of fonts.

In the control panel (small icons) - system - on the left, additional system settings - performance - check the box for smoothing uneven screen fonts.
