How to fix /home?
Salute to everyone. The situation is this. A man came up to me with a laptop. There is Linux. And the joke is that Linux periodically suffers from garbage. And the problem is in /home. Initially, it threw me into emergency mod a couple of times, but after loading from Live and fsck, everything went through and worked further. And then suddenly, when logging in, an authorization error occurred due to the fact that / home does not exist. He just fell off. As a result, I fixed it with fsck and it worked. But it's a little annoying and annoying. No one has come across this and how you can fix the damn "hamster".

There is very little information to make a diagnosis.
I'm assuming you have a physical hard drive problem, since fsck temporarily clears the problem.
First, test the disk, for example, using viktoria for bad sectors.
And also write the name of the Linux distribution, provide logs of unsuccessful boot, what errors fsck fixes.
Check disk, memory. The memory is unlikely, but if everything is in order with the disk, then it is worth looking at.
/home can "miss" if something goes wrong with the mount with the filesystem or a setting in /etc/fstab . The storage drive may be defective or the laptop may be overheating. It is worth starting with the work of iron.
Restoring especially file-by-file does not make sense, except for individual personal data. It will be easier to reinstall the system than to restore.
