How to fix Google Chrome long opening on Windows Server 2008R2?
Good day, comrades!
I ask for help in the following situation. Some time ago, we noticed that users on terminal servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 began to open the Google Chrome browser for a long time. The opening time takes at least 5 to 10 seconds. Servers running Windows Server 2016 do not have this issue.
Also, there is no problem on one of the 2008R2 servers, on which the opening time takes about 2 seconds. The servers are virtual, running on multiple VMWare 5.5.0 U3 hosts. There is no dependence on the location of the VM on the hosts. On servers from 26 to 40 GB of RAM. Updates are put regularly both on the server and on Chrome.
All servers have the same version of ESET installed with the same policies.
It was done:
• Rolling back the latest updates
• Checking installed software
• Comparing VM characteristics • Checking
logs for errors
• Reinstalling Chrome
I would not want to reinstall the server, because on a clean 2008 R2 machine, chrome also opens quickly, about 2 seconds.
I ask for help, maybe someone came across, there are no thoughts where to dig further.
