How to fix a MySQL error on the server?

centos server.
I decided to reset the user's root password on the server, because I forgot the old one.
Executed in ssh:

[[email protected] ~]# sudo /etc/init.d/mysqld stop
Останавливается mysqld:
[[email protected] ~]# sudo mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables &

And now the console gives out this xp.. uh ... strange thing:

How to fix this situation?
PS
It is advisable to explain for the completely stupid, since my skills in working with the console are zero ...
my.cnf
# Example MySQL config file for small systems.
#
# This is for a system with little memory (<= 64M) where MySQL is only used
# from time to time and it's important that the mysqld daemon
# doesn't use much resources.
#
# MySQL programs look for option files in a set of
# locations which depend on the deployment platform.
# You can copy this option file to one of those
# locations. For information about these locations, see:
#
# In this file, you can use all long options that a program supports.
# If you want to know which options a program supports, run the program
# with the "--help" option.
