How to find out what data the chrome extension collects?

Some users are afraid to install this or that browser extension.
I wanted to know what data the extension collects / transmits. It works on all tabs or only on selected sites. There is nothing sensible in the permissions of the extension. Reviews and ratings will not be taken into account. Thanks in advance.
