How do publishers work? How do they find authors for books?

If we talk about large publishing houses, they hardly have to look for authors - I read many times in interviews with publishers that there are a lot of manuscripts (another thing is that the percentage of ordinary graphomania is also very high).
In addition, in foreign publishing houses and in some of our own there are special people, the so-called book scouts, who are looking for books to publish.

If you want to find unknown authors in order to publish them, then you are on the sites where amateur authors hang out. The most famous are, perhaps, Samizdat and Litkult .
