How to find a job if you have skills but no experience?

I have been studying web development for over 5 years, starting from scratch. Now I know HTML, CSS, SASS preprocessor perfectly, JavaScript is my second conversational language, async/await asynchronous requests don’t look like a spell for me, I solve tasks on leetcode up to medium level on the first try in a few lines of code, I confidently use React / Redux to build applications, basic algorithms and data structures I use even outside of programming in everyday life.

I am familiar with many related technologies, including Docker, SQL, AWS, CI / CD, I am also a networker by education, the lack of a Cisco CCNP certificate is due only to the fact that at one time there was no need for it, but to explain to a first grader how the Internet works, for I can do it.

With all this, I have a wild paralysis of a perfectionist and an impostor syndrome, it seems to me that my knowledge is still not enough, job sites are full of requirements of what I do not know perfectly, and the inability to control my free time at my current main job does not make it possible to plan any either internships or freelance projects.

How can I try to enter IT in my case? Where to begin? Online interviews, internship applications, open source... where to go?

I know very well
- you can't evaluate yourself, who are you? Professor? and professors are evaluated not by themselves, but by their colleagues.
I have a wild paralysis of a perfectionist and impostor syndrome, it seems to me that my knowledge is still not enough
- it may turn out that you do not think so.
Only the market puts everyone in their place. Go and urgently try yourself in the market - on freelance, so that other people value you in money. Then you will know for sure whether it is excellent or not excellent, it seems or it does not seem.

I apologize for such an answer, but you need to see a psychologist . Seriously. Excessive meticulousness in any business harms him, you need to be able to find a balance. And it is unlikely that anyone will tell you in detail and tactfully about neuroticism within the framework of this resource. Try asking the same question, for example, on b17.ru (only without the technical details, of course).

Getting into 50-70% of the job description is already a great chance to get into the company if you are not an impostor

I agree with the dollar , it's just like some kind of psychological problem, the
job looks like when there are skills, but there is no experience, just like when there are skills and there is experience, or there are no skills and no experience. You build a good resume on various sites like hh and spam as many companies as possible, ask your friends if they have options. And this applies to any field in general, not just IT.

So in five years you had to write a hell of a lot of everything and you should have a fat github, you know, it’s not every day you meet a person with five years of experience

Didn't find what you were looking for?
